Painting for me is both a solitary meditative experience and a process through which I access and express my emotions. It is the forum through which I share my deep connection to and love of nature with others. I relish the rich and continually transforming artistic experience. I begin with a concept in mind and I am frequently humbled as the artistic process runs its course and my original conception and the sensations that guided it evolve throughout the project. Nature is my most significant source of inspiration, of wonder and of solace. As I am drawn to nature, I gravitate to vibrant and intense colors in my painting, which are as essential to my voice as are the form and content of each work. I see color when I listen to music, when I feel joy, when angry, when sleepy; and these colors are deep and rich. My work is mostly figurative, occasionally abstract, and always unfolding.
